BMW 210mm Plate type LSD for iconic E36 M3 3.2L, E46 M3, E92 M3 and E39 M5
Our Plate type LSDs (Limited Slip Differentials) are crafted from "FORGED" Nickel Chromoly steel and undergo special heat treatments such as Super Sub-Zero or Cryogenic treatment. Additionally, they are subjected to processes like shot peening and WPC to bolster core and surface strength, increase wear resistance, and extend service life. The high strength material, along with the processes and treatments used, not only minimize friction and enhance fatigue strength, but also contribute to significantly reduced overall weight and internal lubrication improvement, through the use of large windows and multi holes. As a result, our LSDs offer prolonged durability(in average, they don´t require any service during the first 2.000km of special stages) and improved and stable performance.
Technical specifications:
These plated LSDs stand out as the sole product on the market featuring 24 friction plates design. In addition, they have the added value of being the lightest on the market, weighing only 6.85 kg. These features contribute to enhanced traction and consistent performance, with a stable preload value during a long time, even in endurance races.
As in all our plated LSDs, we use dual ramp bodies and our factory spec version on this application is the 35/67.5 & 35/90. Other ramp angles available upon request.
We include, free of charge, two additional thicker Belleville (conical) washers, each providing approximately +20 Nm of additional preload.
These are intended for users who wish to experiment with higher preload settings.
As a proof of our quality and reliability, we offer 1 year of “motorsport warranty” upon material or manufacturing defects in our full range of Plate type LSDs.
Important Reminder:
We recommend using gear oils with shockproof additives or friction modifiers, commonly labeled as "LS" (Limited Slip) gear oils, specifically for plate-type LSDs.
The most common SAE grade is 75W-140 LS and only with LS specifications if a plate-type LSD is installed.
It is also advisable to add gear oil directly to the LSD during installation into the gearbox. Please note that although we apply anti-rust oil during assembly at our factory, it does not provide lubrication.
Our plated limited-slip differentials are recommended exclusively for competition use.
For street use and track days, we recommend our Torsen (gear-type) version, which also performs very well in racing applications. for Gear type click here
